A FEW THINGS ABOUT THE ARTIST

1. What do you do when you’re not making art? (Day job etc...).

I am retired so I make use of YouTube classes. I also Zoom twice a month with my Woman’s club. We are doing Junk Journals right now.

2. Why do you make art?

I always was in love with colors seen every day where ever I am. Making art soothes me, and I can get lost in my painting for hours. I do it for myself, the way I see things.

3. What inspires you?

Started in the 1950’s when my Mom had a box full of paper, crayons, paste, etc. I just seemed to take to it, and never stopped seeing colors and shapes everywhere.

4. What/who are your influences?

My High School Art teacher recognized my abilities, and showed me how to build on them. I am influenced mostly by sunlight on objects, colors everywhere I look, and the play of lights and darks against each other.

5. If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be?

Norman Rockwell was the first artist I took note of in my younger years. His life long works are finally promoted to works of Art. Vincent van Gogh’s techniques and use of color has been always been my inspiration to use colors in my paintings in wonderful and special ways.
